Mobilization for Susan Choi's Army

COMMUNIQUE NO. 3
Dear valiant, energetic, dedicated, well-connected Comrades:
Victory is ours.
Some time around 10 pm EST last night, American Woman cracked amazon's Top
100. At one point, it reached as high as 77. As of this writing, it stands,
triumphantly, at 84.
If you haven't yet seen what Susan Choi's Army has achieved, look now:

Susan is in Denver today, recruiting for the Rocky Mountain Battalion. I
spoke with her after she landed to tell her what her Army has accomplished.
She was absolutely amazed, almost (but not quite) speechless. She wants me
to give the troops her deepest thanks and tell you all that she will never
forget what you did on October 6, 2003.
It's always been my belief that if we could make the book an amazon
bestseller, it would take on a momentum of its own as the kind of people who
like to read popular books buy their own copies. Where you, the
revolutionary vanguard, led, the world will follow. One more thing to do on
amazon over the next few days: those of you who've read American Woman
already might want to post a review, so all the new amazonians out there
understand what a great book this is. Don't do it all at once, though.
And now: enough with amazon.The next battleground in this war will be the
independent booksellers. From now on, when you recommend American Woman to
friends, gently suggest that they buy it from a local, non-chain bookstore.
There are many reasons for this, not least of which is that those guys
really deserve the business. Also, the Times best seller list is largely
based on sales figures from those stores. Enough said.
